1. Sindhudurg Fort : 

Standing proudly amidst the azure waters of the Arabian Sea, Sindhudurg Fort is a testament to the architectural brilliance of the Maratha Empire. Sindhudurg Fort was built by the Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the 17th century, this imposing fort is constructed entirely of solid rock, making it an engineering marvel of its time.

It was built to keep an eye on the enemy. This Fort was become the Naval headquarters of Maharashtra. The Fort is considered to be one of the best forts in the sea.

This is the only one Fort which has Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaaj’s temple inside the Fort. A museum is located beside the temple, which has a collection of many posters displaying all the information about old coins, famous Forts, statues, swords, etc. The only authentic portrait of Chhatrapati shivaji maharaj by a Dutch painter during the looting of Surat is kept in this museum. Foot prints, sweet water well(tanks) and other structures are still present and perfectly maintained.

2. Tarkarli Beach :

Tarkarli Beach is one of the best beaches in Sindhudurg, just 25 Km from Bhogwe Beach and 30 Km from Kudal station. It became super popular after Maharashtra Tourism Development Cooperation ( MTDC ) opened a beach resort there.

3. Amboli Ghat :

The beach is super clean and lovely, making it one of the best spots around. Bhogwe beach is located on the western shores of the Sindhudurg district. It is near to Nivati Fort.

This beach is different from all other beaches. Here you can enjoy swimming without any worries as it’s not dangerous as the rest of the beaches. But it can be quite risky in the monsoon. Water sports activities are also available like Scuba diving, parasailing, and so on.
