Milkybar waterfall is situated in Tamhini Ghat region in Mulshi Taluka of Pune district, Maharashtra. It is a beautiful and relatively lesser-known waterfall that has been gaining popularity among trekkers and nature enthusiasts.

It is is located in Plus valley in Tamhini Ghat. This waterfall is located at a distance of 70 Km from Pune and 150 Km form Mumbai.  It is surrounded by lush green forests and rocky terrain, making it a picturesque destination for trekkers.

Trek Route To Milkybar Waterfall  :

While passing through Tamhini Ghat you will came across Tata power conduit section ( power Plant). Just after crossing the power plant, on your right side (If you are coming from Pune) you will get to see the board. From this point trek to the Milkybar waterfall starts. You can search this location on google map as Milkybar waterfall or Milkybar waterfall trek starting point. The trek is of moderate difficulty, and it takes about 1:30 to 2 hours to reach the waterfall from this point.

Its trekking route is equally beautiful and adventurous as its waterfalls. The trail is well marked, so there are less chances of getting lost in the jungle. One of the highlights of visiting Milkybar waterfall is the trekking experience. The trail to the waterfall passes through dense forest, water streams, rocky terrain and offers a chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. While trekking you will get to see red and yellow ribbons tied on the tree. With their help you can easily reach. But for safety purpose you can take a guide.

Trek route can be divided into three parts. First one is through plane area, second one is through dense forest and last one is through water streams. First part is easy compared to the other two. Second patch passes through rocky terrain. Once these two patches have been completed, the final step is crossing the water streams. This water streams makes this trek even more beautiful.

Pro Tip :  If you don’t know swimming then don’t try to get too close to the falls.

How To Reach Milkybar Waterfall :

By Bus : 

I will suggest you to come here with your own or rented vehicle. Bus services are available through MSRTC, but they are very limited. Also, there are less chances of getting the bus at the time you want. so it would be better if you come here with your own vehicle.

By Train : 

First of all, you have to catch the train to Lonavala or Pune. Milkybar waterfall is located at a distance of 56 Km from Lonavala station and 75 Km from Pune railway station. From the station you can book a cab or rent a vehicle to reach waterfall.

The best time to experience Milkybar waterfall’s magic is during monsoon season. During this season, the waterfall is at its peak beauty, with a strong flow of water and lush greenery surrounding it.
